1.3 Time Windows Temporal windows can be defined in two ways: using a Window file created by the WINDOW_DESIGN SFM (select WNDW_FILE option) or by defining fixed length, overlapping windows defined relative to a trace literal (select FIXED_OVERLAP_WNDW option). If using the Window File option, the file must be created in a previous job or prior to ANOMALOUS_AMP_ATTEN within the same flow. To minimize damaging the signal, the temporal windows should follow the desired signal events. This gives the signal events the best chance of having near-constant amplitudes across the spatial width of the window. The WINDOW_DESIGN SFM provides many ways to define windows that track events, including following trace header literal times and using moveout based on specified times and velocities. If using the Fixed windows option, the windows can be defined such that they follow the value of a trace literal, typically START_TIME or water bottom times.
