Sources of cadmium in water are mainly surface runoff and factory effluent. High wastewater containing cadmium is the wastewater from iron sulphate and phosphate rocks when making sulfuric acid and phosphorus fertilizers, and the cadmium content per liter of wastewater can reach tens to hundreds of micrograms. Cadmium particles made from the smelting and burning of non-ferrous metals and the incineration of atmospheric plastic products can enter water. Cadmium, which releases stabilizers and fungicides, can increase the content of cadmium in drinking water when using water in urban areas and can contaminate containers and pipes.
