The static or manual adaptation intervenes during the development or before the execution. It consists to manually adapt the resource before its exploitation in its new context. This resource can be a file (document), an image, a sound, a video or even an application. The result obtained by this technique defines the new context of the resource; which makes sure the guarantee of its exploitation.Several developers have adopted this approach in their work, such as Masse´, Benjaminsen, etc. For example Sun Solution for Women’s Cancer Center project consists to develop a distributed application using PDAs for monitoring the patients’ medical files. Another project of Benjaminsen develops a medical application (Client/Server) using Pocket-PCs. This strategy presents a simple solution, reliable and effective, the fact that each developer adapts the resource for his terminals. Nevertheless, it presents the disadvantage of 3092 R .the difficulty of the applications evolution. All the classic steps (specification, design, implementation and the test) must be set during the adaptation of the resource, which requires a more time in development and consequently a critical factor in an information system.
