I. A. 2. Cold Reheat Steam Pressure and TemperatureThe cold reheat steam usually leaves the high pressure turbine in two pant legs. The temperatures in these two pipes are different, especially at light load on partial admission units due to temperature differences in the first stage discharge. It is best to measure pressure and temperature after these pipes join and downstream of an elbow to insure good mixing. Measuring in the individual pipes requires twice as many instruments and an assumption that the flow in each pipe is the same.
