My first argument is that consumers already know what they want and need. According to my observations, consumer behavior is determined by a number of factors, from product prices and image to consumer priorities and budgets. Let me elaborate on one last factor: the budget. I think for most people, price is a key determinant when they finally decide to buy or not. After all, most of us are not born with a golden spoon or can make an inexhaustible fortune. Instead, most of us have to make a purchase decision with small savings and a meagre salary in mind. The problem with advertising is that no matter how perfect and attractive certain products are, we can't afford them. For example, the average white-collar worker's salary is only a basic living, and they won't consider buying a newly listed four-wheel drive luxury SUV, not because they're not affected by advertising, but because they don't have the money to buy it at all.
