Our planet has significant supplies of natural resources, but they have their limits, so needless to say they should be carefully managed. This can be done by communicating and applying the approach of responsible consumption. This can include buying only necessary items, the optimization of water and energy usage, and recycling. These efforts may seem small at first, but the impact even from one person developing a habit to do so every day will be immense. Samsung Electronics takes every step to best use resources. Over the past few years, the Company has been actively using recycled materials (in the rear panels and stands of monitors, signage, and eco-friendly smartphone accessories) and is now planning to expand their usage across different elements and products. Furthermore, the majority of Samsung’s 2021 TV line-up will come with a new cell-powered remote control that can be recharged through indoor or outdoor lighting, or via USB. Such innovation not only reduces energy usage but eliminates the need for traditional batteries, helping to prevent the wastage of around 99 million AA batteries over the course of seven years of TV usage. In addition, the Company has reduced the standby power consumption of its flagship Galaxy smartphone chargers since 2012 and is currently applying this environmentally conscious enhancement to the chargers of devices throughout its product range.
