Whether we regard the body as a part of ourselves or agree with philosophers who regard the body as an external object, we still have to admit that the body has a close enough relationship with us to form one of these dual relationships necessary for pride and humility (as I said). Therefore, as long as we find another relationship between impression and this concept, we can reliably expect one of these emotions to happen as the impression is happy or unhappy. But all kinds of beauty give us special happiness and pleasure; Just as ugliness causes pain, no matter what subject it exists in, no matter whether it is observed in living or inanimate objects. Therefore, if beauty or ugliness is in our body, this happiness or unhappiness must be transformed into pride or humility, because in this case, it already has all the necessary conditions for the complete transfer of impressions and ideas. These opposing feelings are interrelated with opposing emotions. Beauty or ugliness is closely related to self-the object of these two emotions. Therefore, it is no wonder that our own beauty has become an object of pride, while ugliness has become an object of humility
