First, it is noting that Example 1 is a practical system, called second-order inverted pendulum. Due to the limitation of the condition, we are sorry for that the proposed method can not be tested in a real inverted pendulm. But, the finite-time control indeed as wide applications (see [51]- [54] and references therein). For example, a missile should be guided to hit a target in finite-time instead of infinite-time.
