However, it is difficult to use in temperature-sensitive paint because their sensor works in wet state on the basis of the phase transition of poly(N-isopropylacrylamide). In this article, we report the synthesis of Rhodamine B derivatives bearing a methacryloyl group (3a and 3b in Scheme 1), as well as the copolymerization of 3 with isobutyl methacrylate (IBM) and 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl methacrylate (TFEM) to afford an oxygen-permeable polymer having temperature- sensing functionality.
