1.0 ObjectiveThis document defines how Applied Materials part-marking requirements are specified and provides suppliers with part-marking methods for marking all Applied Materials Build-To-Print (commodity code 0499 and below) parts.2.0 ScopeThis document applies specifically to all Build-To-Print (commodity code 0499 and below) parts manufactured for Applied Materials, either internally or externally, shipped to any worldwide Applied Materials manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution facility from the Applied Materials Supply Base and does not pertain to commercially sourced parts or special parts (commercial or fabricated).3.0 Effectivity3.1 All parts issued for fabrication after release of this procedure requiring part marking shall conform to these requirements.3.2 All parts issued for fabrication before the release of this procedure requiring part marking shall have this specification and requirements added to the drawings when the next Engineering Change Order (ECO) is written for those parts, regardless of the reason for such ECO.4.0 Requirements for Applied Materials Engineering to Indicate Specification on Engineering Drawings4.1 Drawing Notes. The engineering drawing shall contain a delta note to denote the method of marking and marking location on the part. 0250-01536 Notes, Standard Engineering Drawings and 0250-70606 Drawing and Drafting Standards and Best Practices Manual govern delta note specifications and provide additional details on wording, location and usage.4.2 Below is the part marking symbol with Applied logo shown inside the phantom rectangle.4.2.1 Designer can place the part marking symbol in the Drafting space and will be shown in the drawing at desired view.
