"The Watchman in the Wheatfield" is the only novel by the American writer Jerome David Salinger, who confines the story to the three days when Holden Caulfield, a 16-year-old high school student, explores the inner world of a teenager from the three days he left school to wander through New York. Anger and anxiety are the two main themes of this book, the hero's experience and thought in the youth caused a strong resonance, by the reader, especially the majority of middle school students warmly welcomed.
