There is much in Burke that vivifies the experience of reading, for his writing shows a wide-ranging interest in any number of topics, a great flexibility- in modifying existing ideas, and a striking lack of concern for the absence of closure in any system he posits. Indeed, I think it no exaggeration to say that Burke’s approach took an understanding of interpretation as far as it could go given the inherent limitations imposed by the Cartesian system of logic that he followed.
