1. Pressure is to be kept on the ram at all times during mixing period of batches unless otherwise specified by individual mixing specification. 2. All batches are to be mixed to the time, weight, and batch temperatures as outlined for each compound by an approved mixing specification. 3. If floating weight or sliding door (air-operated units) becomes wedged and will not move, place air valve in a neutral position until fixed by maintenance. 4. Process oil lubricator to be shut off by a timer (activated by gate open) in the control circuit if Banbury is let run idle for more than thirty seconds.Process oil to the dust rings will restart when the loading cycle signal is made(e.g., pellets charging or conveyor charging). This is to prevent excessive oil from being pumped into the mixing chamber.Banbury motor should not be stopped as a means of controlling process oil delivery to the Banbury. 5. If a batch refuses to mix at any time during mixing cycle, usually indicated by temperature failing to rise, the batch may be forced to mix by seeding or adding approximately 25 lbs of hot mixed stock. When none of the same stock is available, add 25 lbs of polymer as called for in formula for stock and segregate such batches with a suspicious stock tag.
