Labels for any goods sold by retail in New Caledonia must be presented in French. The French languagerequirement applies to all documents intended for consumers including catalogues, brochures, informationleaflets, purchase orders, delivery notes, guarantee certificates, instructions for use, notes, receipts, menus,advertisements etc.If the label includes another language, the French must be as legible, audible or intelligible as the foreignlanguage.Labelling Item PositionLabelling items must be included on the label in an apparent place and in such a way as to be visible, clearlylegible and indelible. They must not be concealed, veiled or separated by other information.Label information must be fair and precise and must not mislead the consumer with regards to productcomposition, origin, quality, method of manufacture or volume of the goods. It must not refer to any curativeor preventive properties.
