The stability of dump in large dip angle area of open pit mine is very important for mine safety production. In this paper, the influence of the area ratio and dispersion degree of the treatment area on the deformation and failure of the dump bench in the large inclined area is analyzed. Based on the limit equilibrium method, the relationship between the stability coefficient and the area ratio of the treatment area is deduced. Through the numerical simulation test, the influence of the area ratio and dispersion degree of the treatment area on the deformation and failure mechanism of the dump in the inclined base is studied. The results show that the stability factor is a quadratic function of the area ratio of the treatment area. The increase of the ratio leads to the sharp decrease of deformation, the obvious change of deformation direction, the increase of dispersion degree, the effective reduction of displacement and shear strain increment, and the change of failure mode.<br>
