Built in the 16th century, Ward Castle is one of the best-preserved ancient estates in Northern Ireland, with views of Victorian laundry, flour mills and sawmills. Because the owner and his wife have different aesthetic preferences, the whole manor building is divided into two different styles. The buildings at the entrance have classical Paradio-style triangular walls, while the buildings on the other side of the estate are Gothic in style with pointed arched windows. As the core scene of the first season, the team gave enough attention to the construction of Lindongtown. Before filming, the crew spent eight weeks building scenes here, using hundreds of crew members. Not far from the shores of Strangford Lough, Audley's Field is where Jaime Lannister was caught and let go.
