The recited method of present claim 1 solves the problem of providing a method for preparing milled barley malt with increased enzyme activity, which at the same time saves the time and labor costs associated with kiln drying the malt prior to milling. It is thus submitted that claim 1 as well as all claims dependent thereon are inventive over D1 in view of D2 and D3 and the common general knowledge. As claim 12 recites preparing an aqueous extract by the method according to any one of the preceding claims, this claim is also inventive over D1 in view of D2 and D3 and the common general knowledge.
