This is the front crankshaft flange. Full power can be taken from either here or the rear flange. For full power to be taken off of the front of the engine, a full power stub shaft must be included in the package. Other drive combinations can include using 50% of the available horsepower at each end or taking up to 200 horsepower from one end and the remaining power from the other end. When taking a small amount of horsepower from the front of the engine (up to 200 HP), the use of a partial power stub shaft is required (see lower illustration).
