In the electrical field, there is a kind of device which is often used, called signal generator. Its main function is to generate different frequencies, waveforms and output level electrical signals when needed. When we need to detect the transmission characteristics and other electrical parameters of various telecommunication systems or devices, we also need to know the characteristics or various electrical parameters of some electrical components, and play the role of signal source or excitation source. Firstly, this paper introduces the research status and development of the signal generator, the whole working mode and process of the signal generator in detail, and based on the working principle of the signal processor, gives a reasonable system design hardware and software scheme, and describes in detail all the working modules needed to complete the function. This system mainly needs two chips with different functions, one is MAX038, which is used to generate signals. The other is MSP430F149, which is used to control the system. In addition to these two chips, there are several circuits to generate sine wave, square wave, triangle wave and sine triangle combination wave with adjustable frequency and amplitude. The hardware circuit of the signal generator mainly includes power circuit, single chip and its peripheral circuit, human-computer interface circuit, DAC module, amplification circuit, etc. The software part mainly includes the main program design, peripheral module driver design, signal measurement and parameter correction algorithm. The output signal of this design can be selected by keyboard, the amplitude can be adjusted manually, the frequency can be adjusted manually or input by keyboard, and the relevant parameters of the current signal waveform can be displayed and output by LCD1602.<br>
