The literature review calls for an in-depth contextual understanding of the experiences of spirituality among family caregivers and how spirituality contributes to their day-to-day caregiving practices in palliative care. The experiences of spirituality are influenced by multiple cultural and societal aspects such as familial roles, relationships, gender, one’s individual values, and socio-economic factors. An in-depth exploration of spirituality in relation to these aspects is therefore needed to assist families in their caregiving practices in palliative care setting. This study will extend further clarity regarding the spirituality of family caregivers, identify how spirituality shaped their caregiving practices, and determine the influence of culture and religion on their experiences of spirituality in a hospice palliaitve care setting in Pakistan.
