One day after school I was just finishing up some math homework. My dad had just gotten off work. He had come and sat right beside me,looking over my math homework with me. After that we were just talking and my dad smiled, “I will always cherish (珍惜) every moment spending time making conversation with you.” I remember my dad telling me his stories of when he was younger. My dad didn’t have a father growing up. He was always moving from place to place with my grandma. My father was about three when he left America to live in Samoa. He lived in Samoa for three years and then came back to America. My dad wasn’t the easiest kid to handle. He would get into fights with kids at school and he would get picked on. He’d act out to release (释放) the anger he had from not having his father present in his childhood and teenage years. Things got a little easier when he came to Utah. He made the football team. He was doing good in school, and wasn’t getting into as much trouble as before. He also had friends to keep him in line. Among one of those friends was my uncle. My dad and uncle were friends all throughout high school. My mom and dad met through my uncle, officially. My mom and dad had actually met when they were 13. They had seen each other from time to time but never really talked. But my dad fell madly in love with her. My mom noticed this shy boy who stood in the corner during dances, but she’d never paid attention to him. He wasn’t the most social butterfly at the time. Time went on and my mom moved to West Valley, Utah, and so did my dad. One night my mom and all her cousins attended a concert and my mom noticed my dad again. She said to my uncle, “Hey, I know that guy. His name’s Ben, right?
