[Objective] glutaredoxin (Grx) plays an important role in the growth and antioxidant response of many organisms. Glutaraloxin like (GRL) is a newly classified type. The bioinformatics analysis of ghgrl gene in Upland Cotton provides a basis for further study of the function of ghgrl gene in upland cotton. [Methods] using Arabidopsis GRL gene as reference gene, the GRL gene identified from upland cotton genome database was analyzed by bioinformatics and gene expression. [results] 33 ghgrl genes with grx-grx-like conserved domain were identified. The phylogenetic tree analysis showed that 33 ghgrl genes were divided into three subgroups, each of which had homologous genes with Arabidopsis. The amino acid multiple sequence alignment showed that the similarity of the family members was about 29.54%. Most of the genes had no introns through gene structure analysis and conserved sequence analysis It is found that most of the amino acid sequences encoded by ghgrl gene contain four conserved motifs, and four conserved motifs overlap with conserved domains; chromosome mapping analysis shows that 33 genes are scattered on 19 chromosomes, and the number of ghgrl genes on each chromosome is very different; expression profile data analysis shows that ghgrl gene has a wide range of tissue expression types. [Conclusion] the results of this study are helpful to understand the evolution of cotton ghgrl gene family and provide the basis for further study on the biological function of this gene family.<br>
