This paper first defines the concept of autonomous learning on the basis of literature research, explores the theoretical basis of autonomous learning, and summarizes relevant research at home and abroad. Then, the research methods such as questionnaire survey and interview are used to explore the relationship between middle school students 'Internet autonomous learning and English learning achievements. The data is collected and analyzed, and the ways and characteristics of middle school students' online autonomous learning are summarized. Finally, according to the research results, the author puts forward suggestions and countermeasures on how middle school students can use the Internet to learn English autonomously.
