Secondly, the practical significance of this research can be divided into following three aspects. Fro m the perspective of teachers, further study about teachers' questioning strategies in English reading cla ss in the rural-urban fringe will contribute to the development of teachers' professional competence. Teac hers should adjust their classroom teaching behavior under the guidance of scientific teaching ideas. Ba sed on the survey data, this research puts forward some optimized suggestions, which can help teachers realize the current situation of their application of questioning strategies in reading class. Therefore, te acher can avoid these problems that have been founded, so as to improve the effectiveness of questio ning in English reading class. Besides,from the perspective of students, appropriate questioning strategies applied by teachers can inspire students' thinking, stimulate English learning motivation, and facilitate students' English reading ability. La st but not least, from the perspective of English teaching, the research of teachers' questioning strategie s also meets the tendency of the new curriculum reform.
