In this paper, we had primarily studied the automated management system of libraries. By comparing existing automated sorting systems in other industries, a circular sorting concept is proposed. Additionally, we had designed the automated sorting system including book desk, temporary stacks, paging and scanning, intermittent propulsion, palletizing, transporting vehicles. Through three-dimensional modeling software (Pro / Engineer), we created 3D model, package and kinematic simulation. Based on the above work, we had completed the automated scanning and sorting system. Moreover, in order to perfect the mechanical system, we had done a lot to analyze and calculate the strength, stiffness, stability and life of important components. At last, we made a relatively optimized sorting device.This design adopts the modular design concept, which is beneficial to post-series and user-demand. Intermittent propulsion can provide the horizontal movement, positioning, and a stable scanning frequency. The circular palletizing modular makes full use of the surrounding space without turntable’s moving.
