The principle of purpose refers to the fact that translation should be able to take effect in the context and culture of the target language in the manner expected by the target language recipient. Usually, "purpose" refers to the communicative purpose of the translation, that is, "the communicative function of the translation to the target language reader in the socio-cultural context of the target language. Based on this theory, due to the different goals of translation behavior, the strategies and methods used in translation are also different. In other words, the purpose of translation determines translation strategies and methods. This purpose can be understood as: the translator's purpose, the communicative purpose of the translation, and the purpose to be achieved by using a certain translation method.
