6. ConclusionLaw firms face challenges related to globalization and client pressures for increased quality at lower rates. The up-or-out career model, which leads a minority of lawyers to partnerships, is supported by the superhero myth related to high performance in a broad scope of competencies and abilities. We discredit this model. Innovative high performers are more technically inclined, while other lawyers, to their credit, are grinders and team players who are more willing to adapt their approaches (Margarida et al., 2018).
