Reviewer #1: This study by Chen applied density functional theory (DFT) and finite field method to solve nonlinear-optical properties of nine triarylamine-α-cyanocinnamic acid molecules, and the calculation results were systematically analyzed. In one aspect, such kinds of theoretical explorations can better assist experimental design of nonlinear-optical materials, and provide useful reference; in another aspect, such kinds of computational studies could serve as feasible evaluations to characterize functional materials. Thus, it is recommended; however, in this study, the English writing is not good, and there are lots of grammar mistakes and repeated statements (for example, there are many repeated sentences in 'abstract' and 'conclusion' sections) Moreover, many of the figures are not clear, and are even not suitable for publication, so I suggest that Fig 1 and 2 should be refined.Here are some concerns for this interesting study:
