2.2.8 Lock strength (1) Testing A connector shall have its male and female housings fitted, one of which shall be secured while the housing lock is acting. And the other housing shall be pulled at a constant rate of about 20 mm per minute. Then, determine the load which has caused the lock mechanism to get out of place or break down. The housing, however, shall be pulled in the five directions as illustrated below. To measure the load, moreover, pull the housing in each of any directions that may be deemed especially necessary (for use) to construct the connector.
