Although the reliability and durability are mandatory for the application of microchannel reactors under realistic conditions, it is surprising that only few works face this issue. In this sense, our present paper could be considered as a case study since theother cited works [34,35] studying prolonged uses of microreactors have been applied in other catalytic reactions such as WGS or reforming that implies differences in the reaction atmospheres, the evaluated temperatures or even the chemical nature of theused catalysts. Furthermore our manuscript combines catalytic activity results [21–26] during the PROX reaction with the characterization of the coating after the forced deactivation of the microreactor, evidencing a series of phenomena that implies alteration of the chemical nature not only of the catalytic layer, but also the construction material of the microreactor.
