Sarah, Plain and Tall - Reading Response Journal
Reading Response Journals (RRJs) are an informal space for you to explore the readings as well as your own reading process. The first step to writing an RRJ is to read carefully, and take notes on the text as you go. RRJs should include the following:
1. A brief summary of the chapters (10-12 sentences) including major events, characters, and important information about setting (place and time).

3. Your response to the reading (8-10 sentences) including your opinions about and reaction to the assigned chapters. This section is a place to think deeply about the book and the emotions and ideas it brings up for you.

Chapter2:Jacob wasn’t the only one who wrote about Sarah.The children begin exchanging letters back and forth with her.And the people worry about Sarah will not marry with there father Because Sarah like the sea very much, but the place there live is fields and land.Finally Sarah say she will come there by the train she will wear a yellow hat and sing for his kids.
Chapter3: Is the day Sarah was arrive, Jacob work up very early and dress carefully. Then rode his carriage to the train station. All the day his kids did housework at this time they talk about will Sarah like them or will take them to the sea.Suddenly dog was start barking, they look outside and they even can saw a yellow hat.At the end Anna took her look around she want to Sarah love her family and take her to see how big is the sea.
4. 2 discussion questions. These should be questions that could lead to an interesting conversation. Use question words such as What, Where, When, How, Who or Why. They should not be fact‐based yes or no questions.

Pesky : What of she thinks we are loud and pesky?

You will receive complete credit on every RRJ (16 points) by thoughtfully completing the steps as described above, looking at the rubric to check completeness, and by turning your RRJ in on time. The RRJs are a space for you to think through the readings without having to worry too much about grammar, organization, and the other requirements of more formal writing assignments. However, do follow basic rules such as capitalizing and using appropriate language.
