Fatigue related to blood deficiency is worse after menstruation or blood loss. It is best to build back your health every month by taking a blood tonic. You will need to know if you require a warming or cooling tonic. The questionnaire in chapter 24 will help in your selection of blood-builders. For example, for fatigue related to heart, spleen, and kidney weakness associ- ated with aging, insomnia, palpitations, poor memory, and fatigue, take Ren Shen Yang Ying Wan or one of the other blood and energy tonics listed in chapter 25. General tonics such as this can be taken over a long period. Be sure to monitor changes in your energy and tongue.
