Theoretically, annealing time and increasing rate of stress ramp canaffect the measured yield stress of CP hydrate slurry. Fig. 14 gives thetime and rate dependence of the CP hydrate slurry during the measurement process at 3 wt% wax content and 30% water cut. As shown inFig. 14a, the curve shape for annealing time dependence of the yieldstress is s-like. During the annealing period, the water bridge betweenthe hydrate particles gradually ripens into hydrates, which increases thestructure strength of CP hydrates. The longer the annealing time is, thestronger the CP hydrate structure strength is. On the other hand, theaging phenomenon is also important in the field of wax. As discussedabove, the formed hydrates, free water and unreacted CP are wrapped inthe spatial network structure of wax crystals. During the annealing oraging period, the longer the annealing is, the stronger the spatialnetwork is. As can be seen, the annealing effect is completed approximately after eight hours of annealing time. This indicates that the capillary bridge between hydrate particles is completely converted intohydrates after 8 h. In addition, the spatial network is completely formedafter 8 h. At this situation, there is little free water present in the hydrate slurry. As shown in Fig. 14b, four rates are selected to perform the yieldstress measurements. The result reveals that the measured yield stressincreases slightly with increasing rate. Compared to the annealing time, the influence of the stress ramp rate is not significant. It is noteworthythat the other combinations of wax content with water cut of 30% stillstay in line with the trend as shown in Fig. 14, which has been providedin the Supporting Information E. However, higher water cut of 30% isselected to investigate into the effect of annealing time and rate of stressramp on the yield stress of waxy hydrate slurry because the the preparation duration for CP hydrate slurry is long. Further study is needed toreveal the potential mechanism for the effect of annealing time on theyield stress of waxy hydrate slurry by using the microscopic techniques, especially focusing on the annealing time between two and four hours.
