In this paper, an analysis of transfer plates supporting in-plane loaded shear walls which are sub- jected to vertical loading is conducted. Emphasis is placed on the structural behaviour due to interac-tion between the transfer plate and upper shear walls. The interaction has been shown to cause a sig- nificant effect on stress redistributions both in the transfer plate and in the shear walls within an inter- active zone. Parameters that can be considered to influence significantly the structural behaviour and force transfer mechanism are also highlighted.
