One day after school I was just finishing up some math homework. My dad had just gotten offwork. He had come and sat right beside me,looking over my math homework with me. After thatwe were just talking and my dad smiled, “I will always cherish (珍惜) every moment spendingtime making conversation with you.”I remember my dad telling me his stories of when he was younger. My dad didn’t have afather growing up. He was always moving from place to place with my grandma. My father wasabout three when he left America to live in Samoa. He lived in Samoa for three years and thencame back to America. My dad wasn’t the easiest kid to handle. He would get into fights with kidsat school and he would get picked on. He’d act out to release (释放) the anger he had from nothaving his father present in his childhood and teenage years. Things got a little easier when he came to Utah. He made the football team. He was doinggood in school, and wasn’t getting into as much trouble as before. He also had friends to keep himin line. Among one of those friends was my uncle. My dad and uncle were friends all throughouthigh school. My mom and dad met through my uncle, officially. My mom and dad had actually met when they were 13. They had seen each other from timeto time but never really talked. But my dad fell madly in love with her. My mom noticed this shyboy who stood in the corner during dances, but she’d never paid attention to him. He wasn’t themost social butterfly at the time. Time went on and my mom moved to West Valley, Utah, and sodid my dad. One night my mom and all her cousins attended a concert and my mom noticed my dad again. She said to my uncle, “Hey, I know that guy. His name’s Ben, right?”
