I demonstrated a high level of understanding and meticulous logic in regard to project management process when I worked on an ERP system development project for a high-precision gear production company during my internship at Changshu Tianzhe Information Engineering Co., Ltd. in 2017. Our ultimate goal for this project was to optimize the company’s management process, including accounting, costing, fixed assets, warehouse management and production, before integrating all the processes into one electronic platform. The company hoped that through this ERP project implementation, they could sort out their operational processes and realize standardized and integrated management for their R&D, production, quality control, warehouse management, logistics and so on, in order to promote their efficiency as a whole. After I joined the project, I found that almost all the departments of the company were involved in the project, so data and information would be vast and complex. After communication with my supervisor, I got the information to understand the division of responsibilities and work process of each department. Our next focus was to solve the cost distribution of each department, to design and optimize the cost control by understanding the process of the production department, and to test the practicability of the system by manipulating data. I designed a questionnaire after meeting and communicating with the production department. However, I found that the company had an issue in which production costs for semi-complete products did not correspond to the system. To resolve this, I communicated with R&D personnel and implemented additional processes, which prevented us from having to deal with the issues involving reworking the entire system’s data.
