Generally 1.01 The following components related to Communications Backbone Cable are each given separately: backbone cables (stating the type, size, number of cores), main and intermediate cross-connects, spare parts, tools and instruments. 2. Backbone Cables 2.01 Fiber Optic backbone cables are given in metres, (stating the type, size, number of cores, method of installation, type and size of associated pathways), measured the net length. 2.02 Rates for backbone cables are deemed to include the costs of: conduits and fittings, draw wires and the like (except where cabling pathways are required to be measured separately), cable and conduit termination with all necessary accessories and fittings. cable joints/splices (where permitted) including joint/splice boxes, sealing boxes and the like, allowance in cable length for cables entering racks and cabinets, necessary components and accessories for fixing cables on walls, ceilings and on cable trays/ladders, firestopping (for associated backbone cabling pathways except where required to be measured separately), bonding.
