Houston (Platts)--23Oct2020/307 pm EST/1907 GMT US spot export MEG prices were assessed down 2 cents/lb on the week Oct. 23 at 27-28 cents/lb FOB USG, based on lower pricing indications amid expectations of more supply availability with the restart of US plants following shutdowns for storms and turnarounds. The US October MEG contract price remained assessed at 27.00-27.50 cents/lb FOB, up 2.24 cents from the September assessment of 24.76-26.26 cents/lb FOB. The contract price reflects a 4 cents/lb increase in the October US benchmark contract price from September, and higher Asia contract price (ACP) nominations, based on a weighted formula that discounts the North American benchmark price by 15% and the ACP average by 5%, with each segment equally weighted, per market feedback.
