Grammar teaching has been the researchers' debating topic all the time in language teaching. During the senior high school English teaching the most importan purpose is to train the studens' communicative ability, which requires process of arring out the communicative pricipies. "Task-based" teaching fully rflets the teaching and leaming process of communcation features with the students as the main body and with the overall goal to fosterthe T-students' ability to use an integrated language. The whole process of teaching is a process of completing a variety of tasks. Senior high phase of English teaching is an important process to train citizens' foreign language ability. The New High School English Curriculum advocates the implementation of task-based English teaching and cultivate the students' integrated languageapplication ability. Grammar knowledge is an integral part of language ability, essential to the development of basic language skills. Therefore, grammar teaching should be based on enhancing the practice awareness of students. The paper analyzes the role task-based teaching in high school English grammar teaching to indicate that task-based grammar teaching is intended to stimulate students" learning motivation, ultimately to achieve the purpose of communication.
