Compliant mechanism is a kind of mechanical mechanism which can produce displacement through the deformation of some or all flexible components.In the traditional mechanical structure design, designers usually pay more attention to the rigidity and strength of each structural part on the premise of meeting the use requirements, but in the practical application, the elastic deformation of the component is inevitable, which to a certain extent affects the position accuracy of the mechanism.In the traditional rigid mechanism, several rigid members are connected by the motion pair, and the relative motion between the members is produced by the motion pair.As far as the mechanism is concerned, clearance and friction are the two main factors that affect the accuracy of the mechanism.There are inevitably gaps or frictions in the traditional hinge mechanism.In addition, assembly cost accounts for a considerable proportion in the whole labor cost, and designers should try their best to reduce the assembly cost.The compliant mechanism just overcomes the above defects in the traditional hinge mechanism.The transmission motion of the mechanism has the following characteristics: 1) no friction, wear and transmission clearance, improve the motion accuracy of the mechanism, increase the reliability of the mechanism, and no motion noise; 2) fewer parts, or even only one, which is convenient for manufacturing and assembly; 3) storable elastic performance, with its own return reaction force.
