SKIN CREAM 1. SCOPE AND FIELD OF APPLICATION This standard is concerned with skin creams for general purposes. It is not concerned with skin cream used for medical purposes. 2. CLASSIFICATIONS Skin creams are classified to the following: 3.1 Varnishing cream. 3.2 Cold cream. 3.3 Cleaning cream. 3.4 Moisturizing cream. 3.5 Sports cream. 3.6 Foundation cream. 3.7 Hand cream. 3.8 Emollient cream. 4. REQUIREMENTS Skin cream shall fulfil the following: 4.1 It shall be in the form of thick emulsion or unctuous mass, with a pleasant odor, white or of uniform colour. 4.2 It shall comply with the Gulf Standards mentioned in (2.2), (2.3). 4.3 The pH value shall be in the range of 5-9.5. 4.4 The total content of Fatty substance shall be not less than 15 % by mass. 4.5 The bacterial count shall be not move than 100/ g. 4.6 It shall be thermostable at a temperature of 37 oC ± 1 and humidity of 60 - 70 % for 8h. 4.7 The water content shall be not more than 85 % by mass.
