Pipeline Support and BracketryThe design, spacing and attachment of any pipeline support will normally be left to the sub-contractor unless stated otherwise on the drawings. However, the following criteria must be adhered to (but not necessarily limited to) and they are that: a) all previous sections of this Specification shall apply. b) materials used for fixings and brackets must be compatible with adjacent materials, have a suitable corrosion resistant finish for the environment in which it will be installed and be consistent throughout the contract. c) the sub-contractor shall advise the nominated site engineer of the position and type of any fixings and obtain confirmation that these are acceptable. d) the design and positioning of the fittings does not inhibit the routine maintenance requirements of any equipment. e) the sub-contractor should standardise on fixings and brackets and preferably use proprietary items wherever practicable. f) “Safety in Design” is employed, eg. Sharp edges are removed, cut ends protected etc.
