John and all,QFYK had 3 meetings after receiving complain and considered the reason as attachment (translation as below), also recommended the rework process.1. Why happened and why shippeda) Actual manufacturing process didn’t follow the standard processb) Standard process, drill & ream the taper hole, install the dowel then manufacture other features.c) The housing taper hole is extra long and the taper ream cutter is not common in the marketd) QFYK spent very long time to search the ream cutter on the market and received it 2 days before delivery.e) For on time delivery, production department suggested to manufacture without dowels but with locked bolts, and it was approved by the project engineer.f) The cutting result was inspected by QC and within toleranceg) QFYK reamed the taper hole in another equipment after ream cutter received and assembled the dowelh) QFYK QC guy thought the housing had been locked by bolts and just ream 6 hole, other features tolerance should be no change and didn’t do final inspection again before shipmenti) Base on the result you provided, QFYK consider the upper and lower housings had a slight slid during the moving process (before ream) 2. Rework suggestiona) Install the bearings without dowels, with loosing boltsb) Move the bearing holes into right position, lock the boltsc) Ream the taper holes, ream deeper3. Preventive plana) Strictly following designed production processb) If need to change the production process, need to discuss with engineers and get approval from customerc) Final inspection must be conducted after all feature created and before shipment As QFYK feedback, this is an individual case not a common issue, the other housings should be no same issue.QFYK said it is very sorry to have this quality issue and it will pay all the rework cost at your end.
