Baiji is a perennial herb terrestrial plant with a height of 20-50 cm. The base of the stem has an enlarged pseudobulb, flat, ovate or irregular cylindrical, about 1cm in diameter, with a water chestnut-like succulent annulus, sticky, with several linear fibrous roots. The leaves range from 2 to 6 leaves, lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, alternate, entire, articulated, with a tubular sheath at the base surrounding the stem. The terminal racemes have 4 to 10 flowers, pink, lilac, purple, light yellow or yellow. Capsules, long cylindrical, 3 to 4 cm long, about 1 cm in diameter, small seeds, many.
