Secondly, time management is a recipe for improved productivity. The ability to use one’s skills to organize and plan time makes it easy for them to take control of all the activities they engage in (Coleman, MacNicol & Briner 2015). As an engineer and a business owner, I had to deal with several tasks and responsibilities that kept extending. Every task came with its pressure and needed time to attend to. Olsson (2011) confirms that although there is not sufficient time to accomplish everything, setting priorities right among one’s tasks and goals can help track and maximize efficiency and productivity. Due to the lack of a time management plan, it was quite challenging to set straight the goals that mattered in accomplishing existing and upcoming client projects. This pushed me into running up and down to beat deadlines. This was quite pressurizing and I could frequently find myself in a state of low self-esteem.
