This article intends to study the archival procedures developed by Eunice Vivacqua, author of the book Salao Vivacqua: lembrar para lembrar, and sister of the writer Achilles Vivacqua. For this purpose, material texts produced by the keeper of Achilles' files were analysed in order to unveil the trajectory of the records performed and the way the materials were collected and organized. Among the materials one can find signed documents and letters elaborated by her in order to guide the material reception. We have as a primary source a signed document without date which offers in a very poetic and thorough way a portrait of her brother. The aim of this project is to analyze this document as a theoretical reflection on the idea of archive and the meaning of the gestures performed by this archivist and file restorer. It is based on fundamental theoretical studies that discuss the issue of memory and archive such as Jacques Le Goff's Historia e memoria, and the work of Jacques Derrida, Mal de arquivo: uma impressao freudiana.
