Definition
ISO 2081-Fe/Zn12/B
The coating according to ISO 2081 can be applied for steel- and iron parts, and
defines a galvanic coating of 12µm thickness. Afterwards the parts are “blue”
passivated without sealing.
Such coating corresponds to CENTA Standard “VC” for drawing parts article code
053, 153, and 253, while bolts and standard parts, C-articles respectively, are not
concerned by this data sheet, since they refer to D013-047.
Characterization
After the coating process of several galvanic dip bathes the parts show a silverblue shiny surface. During the first galvanizing process step the part is used as
cathode. Subsequently the part is passivated, being immersed in a chromic acid
solution.
