The specimens must be taken out of the package 1 week before testing and must be stored in a standard atmosphere (room temperature (23 ±2) °C, relative humidity (50 ±6)%) for 168 h until testing. Adequate ventilation in the storage location must be ensured in order to avoid contamination of the samples with hydrocarbons. The parts must be stored individually, with sufficient clearance to each other. All surfaces of the specimen must be open to ventilation without obstruction. The parts must not be placed on their visible side. Flat materials (e.g., leather, films), in particular, must be spread out on a rack or grate.
