How different personality traits impact on project team performanceFirstly, analytic personalities can hold up the progress of a team. In a team consisting of members with analytic skills, we had to meticulously revise things backward and forwards, up and down. When it came to adopting new ideas, they were exceedingly cautious. As Stubbs (2013) puts it, the questioning mentality of analytic characters not only delays but also impacts a team’s credibility (p. 99). Our assignment included inspecting and checking compliance of the construction site, and establishing the most appropriate approach among other tasks. Although many of our members came up with several ideas were, a couple of them never passed the approval stage due to the overly analytic members of the team. Under many circumstances, we needed to come up with full clarification, assurance, and the outcome of every idea. So, we had to allocate more time for full analysis and assessment.
