At the end of 1934, he performed a very difficult surgery. The patient had a strangulated hernia. About 12" of gangrenous intestine had to be removed and an end to end anastomosis. There was also an aneurysm that had to be tied off. He also had to remove a bladder stone from a 12 year old boy. It was a difficult surgery as the stone was imbedded in the bladder wall.
